The Cross River State Electrification Agency has commenced the rehabilitation and electrification of Bekwarra Local Government Area, under the directives of the state governor, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
The commencement of work on Monday is a testament to the governor’s commitment to fulfilling his promise to the people of Bekwarra Local Government Area and to also build on the mantra of the ‘People’s First Agenda.’
Recall that, the governor approved the SEA to commence immediate electrification of Bekwarra in September.
With the governor’s directive, SEA Director-General, Mr. Francis Ekpo, has swung into action, mobilising engineers to site.
Ekpo also solicited the support of the various communities in Bekwarra Local Government Area as the engineers are committed to delivering the directives of the governor and the mandate of the SEA, to provide electricity to every community in Cross River State.
“Now that the Cross River State Electrification Agency has started work in communities in Bekwarra council, as directed by the governor, we solicit your support.”
He also advised the indigenes on the need to support and protect the amenities provided by the government in various parts of the state.
