Cocoa in Nigeria is trading at 2.2 million naira ($2,966) a metric ton in Cross River State, an industry official said Thursday.
Cross River is the country's second-largest cocoa producer. Its graded cocoa--certified fit for export--was trading at 2.1 million naira a ton on Aug. 2.
In the southwest state of Osun, the country's third-largest cocoa grower, cocoa fetched 1.9 million naira a ton, said Wahab Bello, a trader.
Cocoa traded higher at 2 million naira a ton in the state on July 26, according to a trader.
