Following the cruise boat mishap at the Marina Resort, a tourist and relaxation destination in Calabar, and the total shut down of the resort by the Governor, His Excellency, Prince Bassey Edet Otu, independent vendors have expressed concern over the losses incurred by their businesses.
Speaking to our news reporter in Calabar, the vendors lamented that the resort comprises of various businesses beside the boat cruise area, and the management shutting the drinks, food and games arena out has brought untold hardship to their businesses.
According to them, their rent has been running without proper compensation and for the past three years, the resort has been running without power and business spending so much on generators.
The Marina resort vendors further appealed to the government to open other businesses within the resort to enable them continue their means of livelihood.
