The wife of Cross River State governor, Rev Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, has urged parents, guardians, and teachers to stop the exploitation and maltreatment of children.
She has also called on world bodies to intervene to end child abuse.
She made the call even as the global community celebrated World Day Against Child Labour.
On her verified Twitter handle, the governor’s wife said the exploitation and maltreatment of children in the workforce have become intolerable.
“I call for action to end the exploitation and maltreatment of children in the workforce.
“We should all play a role in ending child labour by raising awareness of the issues and supporting organisations that work towards it,” she tweeted.
