Ikom/Boki 2023: 'My Legal Suit was to seek redress and never to demean your political career' — Abang eulogizes Ochinke

The Flagbearer of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and winner of the just concluded primary Rerun for Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency, Hon. Abang Pius Besong have maintained that his legal suit which led to reversal of the outcome of the primaries earlier conducted on 23rd May, was only to seek redress and not demean or disrespect Attah Ochinke's Political Career.

Boki Blog had earlier reported that Hon. Pius Abang Besong Won the PDP Ikom/Boki House of Representative’s Re-run elections after he polled 37 votes to defeat his closest rival, Barr. Attah Ochinke who scored 30 votes.

In an appreciation message duly signed by Hon. Abang and made available to Boki Blog by his media team, he described Barr. Attah Ochinke as a very steadfast and fearless politician, saying he has shown him the relevance of competition, and that everything is for the benefit of the party and their dear constituency.

In his exact words; "To my co-contender,  a very steadfast and fearless politician, you've shown me the relevance of competition, it's for the benefit of our party and dear constituency".

"The suit instituted by me against your emergence in the earlier conducted primaries was only meant to seek redress for the interest of our people after the process was marred with irregularities, and never to demean your political career.

"Your ideas and plans for Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency are wonderful, I solemnly beseech you to sheathe your sword and let's work together collectively in building a better society as one family.

Hon. Abang said his appreciation message will not be complete without commending the leadership of his party (PDP), and panel for ensuring a free, fair and credible election as he's indebted for the neutrality they've played during the process and will try his best, to always remain a good ambassador.

It's my singular honour and privilege to express my profound gratitude to all delegates, delegates owners(DO), stakeholders, my teeming supporters, friends and associates who have done extremely well in ensuring my emergence as winner in the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Rerun for  Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency.
