The Cross River State Government has appointed His Royal Highness, Ntufam Raphael Ekuri Agbor, Clan Head of Etomi community, as the acting Paramount Ruler of Etung local government area in Cross River.
Accordingly, Ntufam Ekuri Agbor was presented with his certificate of acting Paramount Ruler by the government through the office of the Traditional Ruler’s Council in Calabar.
His appointment is coming after the suspension of the former Paramount Ruler, HRH, Ntufam Emmanuel Oru Ojong.
Speaking shortly after receiving the certificate, the acting Paramount Ruler lauded the state government for finding him worthy to act as Paramount Ruler of Etung.
He assured the state government and all indigenes of Etung local government area of his desire to foster peace and unity in the local government.
“I have been appointed to take charge of the affairs of Etung local government area as the acting Paramount Ruler.
“I will do my best to unite Etung and foster peace. I am known as the King of Peace, it is my duty to promote peace in my domain.
“As we move into the general elections, I have advised my subjects to shun all forms of violence, and hate speeches,” he said.
The acting Paramount Ruler, who was accompanied by some illustrious sons and daughters of Etung during the presentation of the certificate to him, was highly elated with his new position.
