Four suspected separatists have been arrested over alleged illegal possession of firearms in Cross River State.
THE PARADISE NEWS gathered that the four suspects were members of the Biafra Nations League (BnL) and Ambazonia separatists.
According to sources, they were arrested at about 8:00am on Monday, September 19, 2022, by the Nigerian Army at a checkpoint in Ikom local government area of Cross River State, South-South Nigeria.
The source said “the armed separatists were on their way to Taraba State, North East region, to deliver the items to their fellow separatists from Ambazonia (Cameroonians) but were intercepted at Ikom.
“One of the Biafra Nations League members escaped during the search, while the rest, including Ambazonians, were rounded up by officers of the Nigerian Army”.
