As molts gather sands, so the grand opening of 3H Lodge, Bar, Pastries & Kitchen dramatically converged the crémé de la crème in the Cross River State Central region, recently.
The hotel which is located at No. 80 Ogoja rd, 4 Corners, Ikom in Cross River State, was commissioned on Saturday 3rd April by the Dist. Senator Representating Cross River Central Senatorial District, Senator Sandy Ojang Onor, who was represented by the Director General of Caterpillar Movement, Hon. (Chief) Joe Obi Bisong accompanied by his team.
The colorful function had many political big wigs including Cross Governorship Aspirant, Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo (Dansuki) representing Biase/Akampka Federal Constituency, Hon. Joe Obi Bisong, Aspirant for Ikom/Boki House of Reps, Mr. Alvin Ochang, Mr Sylva Binang Gbogbo, PDP Boki Chapter Chairman, Hon. Fabian Okwajie, among others.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director/CEO of the hotel and Aspirant for Boki 1 State Constituency, Hon. Ikobi A. Ikobi, described the hotel as a destination of comfort, that 3H has been setup to give comfort and hospitality to the general public.
In his address, Senator Sandy Onor, represented by Hon. (Chief) Joe-Obi Bisong, lauded the initiative of Hon. Ikobi in exploring the latent hospitality and tourism industry in Ikom and Cross River State. He described Hon. Ikobi as a ‘man of many parts’ while wishing him the best in his endeavours, before commissioning the edifice.
The Chairman of the event, Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo popularly known as ‘Dansuki’ who arrived just in time, commended Hon. Ikobi’s brilliance, Innovation, smart and creative mindset, saying he always know that there is plan B in life. In his words he said; “Yesterday was my wedding anniversary so I didn't need to go anywhere, but because this young man was doing something I believe in, and was situating his Hotel in my business domain”.
“Many of you do not know that Ikom is my town, I started Cocoa business in Ikom in 1997, I have one of the biggest cocoa stores in this Ikom town. So we are not those that are in business or in politics because we want to make money from it”.
“When I see a young man trying to follow the footsteps of being smart, being smart is always knowing that there will be a plan B in life. Politics is not a business where you put all your hope in, politics is service, service by doing what the people can turn and look at and say at this point in time when you were here this is what you were able to do, and for me any young man who sees that way, Trying to calf a niche for himself business wise, I would always want to support”. He said
“My DG was talking about governorship aspiration, I think we have moved up beyond governmentship aspiration, we are creating and building bridges of friendship. Friendship is beyond politics. All the people that I've met in the course of life, I develop a relationship beyond politics and I play politics without bitterness”. He added
Summarizing his statement, Mr. Dansuki supported Hon. Ikobi’s Efforts with a token of five hundred thousand naira (500,000).
In an interview, a good number of the dignitaries at the occasion also described the hotel as enviable and laudable venture in Ikom, state and the country at large.
In Appreciation, Hon. Ikobi A. Ikobi expressed his joy, as he sighted and appreciated everyone for being part of the event, as he launched the congregation to a nonstop after-party.
