The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Cross River State has congratulated the newly elected National Women Leader of the party, Dr Betta Edu at the just concluded APC National Convention 2022 in Abuja.
Dr Edu was returned elected after polling 2,038 votes defeating her closest rival Barr Helen Boco who scored 115 votes. Though Barr Mary Ekpere-Ita withdrew from the contest, she garnered 3 votes as announced by the returning officer and Chairman Electoral Sub-committee, Jigawa State Governor Mohammad Badaru Abubakar and has been duly sworn in by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The statement reads, "We use this medium to extend our warmest congratulations to you for the election's victory. It was a victory well deserved, borne out of your selfless service and loyalty to the refinement of the party which you have shown throughout your stay with us and your commitment to add positive values to the human race. We jointly delivered you with the mandate based on the utmost trust we have in you, and we believe strongly that you will not let us down.
"As you step into the office of the National Women Leader of our great party, we extend our very best wishes for success for you and your leadership and all the other newly elected members of the National Working Committee of our great party. We look forward to befitting representation and outstanding deployment of your job as the brand new National Women Leader of our dear party.
"From all of us, we say a big congratulations to you, once again!"
