A frontline contender aspiring for the Boki 1 legislative seat of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rev. Akilibor Gabriel A. has maintained that with the move of the Governor to APC, the party has automatically become the rulling party in the state.

In this interview with Boki Blog’ Rev. Akilibor Gabriel speaks about his House of Assembly ambition, and what she hopes to achieve given the mandate/mantle as member representing Boki 1.

While he pledges effective representation, Akilibor believes Boki 1 will have no regret having him as CRSHA member in 2023. Below are the excerpts from the interview.

For the benefit of our readers whom your candidature may be new to, please could you introduce yourself?

Thank you so much, I am Rev Akilibor Gabriel Aliabeshi, from Odor community, Owambe beebo in Beebo/Bumaji Ward, In eastern Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State.

If you don't mind Sir, can you tell us briefly about your family background?

I am a son of Sagt./Mrs Akilibor Benjamin Mpoh of Odor Owambe Community in Beebo Clan, the first child out of eleven (11) children.

Being a Cleric, can you share some of your experiences combining both your pastoral and political ambitions?

I have been in both for a very long time now, it has been an exciting experience for me, learning from both sides. As a pastor I plan ahead making sure we don't have clashes with our frequent programs, and as a politician, I try to see how to managed everyone in peace and diversify means to always move ahead, above all to protect my integrity and the fear of God.

Why did you decide to run for Boki 1 State House?

To render service to my people
And to add to what others have already done, in a Godly approach.

You've been doing great and you're highly respected by the Boki people, don't you think full time politics might destroy your reputation?

No, No; I don't think so, my intentions is coming into full time politics in a Godly way, and with integrity.

Why running under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC)?

Because the All Progressives Congress, APC have been my party from the beginning of democracy.

APC have not really been a favourite party in Boki LGA, do you think your party affiliation might hinder your move ahead of 2023?

You know things have really changed for the better, with the move of the State Governor to the APC, no doubt we have automatically become the rulling party in the state and with this development, I am so confident that we will make it as a party.

We have heard the preaching of allowing electorate vote for their choice during election, but based on the recent elections in Boki, politicians share gifts and money, most times those who share more end up winning the election. Don't you worry that it would also play a huge role in 2023?

No, No, and No, Boki people have outgrown that kind of approach, believe me when you are not grand then you will have no other choice than to buy the electorate but, if you are on grand and the electorate know you, then you don't need to buy anyone. That's how it Works.

I see!
What particular areas will you concentrate on if given the opportunity to contest, and be elected in 2023?

We really need to add value to our God-giving Forest, and make farming work more profitable, and to promote peace and unity among our people.

Which last words or advice do you have for your constituents/supporters ahead of 2023

Election time is not a time of money making, it is a time we look succinctly to elect the right persons into political positions, it isn't a period of giving our votes to those who will want to buy our it. As soon as they enter their offices successfully, trust me, you will not see them again, but candidates voted freely from the heart, can be seen at any given time, people with the fear of God, those that have the interest of our great Boki 1 constituency at heart.

Thanks for having me, more Grace for exploit

Thanks for your time
