International Women's Day; Dr Betta Edu Stands Tall In Our Today's Generation As A Result Of Hard Work - Ntem Kris

Like the saying goes; what is life if full of care as we've got no much time to stand and stare. This is the watch word for Dr Betta Edu as her passion for hard work, result oriented nature, determination to make everything right, her ability to transform every challenge to an opportunity, her attitude of giving her best in everything she finds doing, her love for mankind, her transformational nature and that hunger/desire to make everyone around her feels happy and comfortable is the reason why she has remained one of the fasted growing Women (Female Youth) of our time even in her early 30's.

A bright child that will be successful in life is always known even from his/her early education days, Dr Edu a one time Vice President of the Prestigious University of Calabar SUG left legacies upon legacies followed by her time as a Corp member in Government Clinic. As a result of hard work which benefit is always more work, Dr Edu was appointed an SA on Public Health and was immediately promoted to the pioneer Director General of the CRSPHCDA, there she exploded and made history for the CRSG and the World at large.

As a DG, no Ward in CRS is without a Primary Health Center, Health Care Services brought to the door steps of cross riverain, Free Medical Outreaches carried out in all the nooks and cranny of the State with particular interest and attention in the hard to reach areas amongst many other achievements and outstanding legacies she kept behind, just too numerous to mention.

Today, still as a result of hard work, Dr Edu was appointed the Health Commissioner of CRS by His Excellency Sen Prof Ben Ayade whose appointment is always borne out of merit, result and hard work, this is evident on her giant stride in the Health Sector earning CRS to be the last State to record any COVID-19 positive case due to the fact that her pragmatic and proactive nature through the support of our amiable and health pro governor Sen Prof Ben Ayade, under her leadership, CRS was the first State to start carrying out the COVID-19 prevention protocol and putting all modalities in place to ensure safety.

Under her reign as Health Commissioner, our General Hospitals are wearing a new look, our health sector which was almost collapsing has been resuscitated amidst numerous challenges ranging from the outbreak of COVID-19, to the EndSars protest where all our major health care services/offices where all destroyed and today through her hard work and support from Sir Ben Ayade are being replaced gradually and many others. The Chairman of the Commissioners for Health forum in Nigeria has within a short period of time written her name in gold as her passion to ensure that everyone lives happy and healthy is one compared to none.

I decided to single her out on this special day set aside for Women all over the World to say a very big well done to her for being an example to the fact that hard work pays. If she could achieve so much in this her young age, i can't stop imagining the height Dr Betta Edu a philanthropist of our time will reach in 5yrs time from now. Indeed, some persons are created for certain purposes/reasons and Dr Betta was indeed created to put smiles on the faces of the poor, the aged, the vulnerable and the World at large.

Happy International Women's Day to you Dr Betta Edu and to all other Women who have in one way or the other added spice and put smiles to the faces of the people of our generation. We'll keep celebrating you. Keep soaring like the Eaglet that you truly are.
