C'river Anti-Tax Agency Beamlight on Illicit Tax Operators Says, Our Hotline are open for distress 07026105177

The Chairman of the Cross River State Anti-Tax Agency, Bishop Emmah Isong has frowned at the uncivilized and vicious act of illicit tax operator's in the Capital City,  Calabar. An instance of the tragic incident which occurred March 18, 2021 at the Municipal. 

While reacting on the trending video of a young man, Chucks, who was dehumanized by an illicit tax operator's in Calabar. 

He Said, “This is not acceptable even after the governor had issued several warnings to the perpetrators to desist from such inhuman act of extorting people of their hard-earned money. “Besides such act is against the Cross River State Tax law exception.”

“The agency frowned at such flagrant abused by unlawful operators,” He lamented.

Bishop Emmah, however, called on CrossRiverians to dial the agency hotlines, 07026205177 on distress, affirming that, the information unit are on standby for a swift action.

He opined that the government had already established the Special Court in principle by the Chief Judge of the state. He Said, the pepetrators will be handed over to law enforcement officer for immediate persecution while calling on good spirited individuals and organizations to remain unruffled. He avouched that, “Justice will be serve judiciously to the sponsored leaders and culprits.”

Governor Ayade had earlier, inaugurated anti-tax agency, saying it was an injustice to tax the poor and all low income earners, and had frowned at activities of illegal tax consultants who he said impose unnecessary tax on the poor and vulnerable persons in the state.

At this time, ‘Ayade Advocate’ learnt that, The Chairman of the Calabar Municipality Council, Effefiong Eke and Director General of the Department of Public Transport, Godwin Nyiam, attested, the “touts” operations are not under their lawful acts nor authorised by their offices.
