She said: “ I, Modlin Odu, on Tuesday 23rd of February at about 9:30pm received a call from a particular number.
“The caller introduced himself as ‘General Obi Iron’. He is originally Thomas Obi, Gov. Ayade's Special Adviser on Forest Security who is always in the news for the wrong reasons ranging from attempted assassination and cruel maiming of people. There are plenty of evidence to back up victims' claims.
“This is what he said; ‘What did I do to you, why have you been scandalising my name in Boki WhatsApp group. I have your information already and anyday we meet, you will tell me what I did to you’
“In Boki WhatsApp platforms, some of us have been speaking out strongly against his nefarious activities that has gone unpunished. One man in drunk pursuit of political relevance cannot hold an entire people to ransom and government is turning a blind eye to it. He has now added me to his list of targets.
“I have complained to relevant authorities, let the general public also be informed that if anything happens to me in Boki, the land of my parents and ancestors, Thomas Obi should be held responsible.
It can be recalled that, Thomas Obi “Gen Iron” and his boys, over 200 were granted amnesty by the Cross River State government in 2018, but still display with guns and commit various atrocities, including the viral incident in May 19th, 2020 where he burnt numbers of persons he labelled witches in his community, even though some human rights organizations, including AFAW as reported by OPINION NIGERIA he still wasn't persecuted.
Also, on December 30, 2020, he attempted assassination on a Commissioner II in the state Civil Service Commission, Mr Thomas Onabe, which resulted in bullying and destruction of his private car as reported by Paradise News
