Prof E.C Uttah, the Chairman of the Committee during a courtesy visit to the Honorable Commissioner for Health Dr Betta Edu, Chairman of the COVID-19 task force officially introduced the taskforce team to her while stating their mission and expected obligations with major challenges to meet the demand of the huge school population.

“I thank and appreciate you for your numerous achievements recorded in the health sector as indices have clearly shown that Sen Prof Ben Ayade's administration has left no stone unturned in making the health sector great again. Here with me are members of the COVID-19 Taskforce team for CRUTECH with a mandate of ensuring strict compliance of our Students and Staff to all the laid down rules/protocols of the virus to ensure safety and a comfortable environment for the Institution. We're here to solicit for support to enable us address the immediate needs and challenges we're facing as an Institution in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. We'll be needing a few items to enable us carry out this mandate successfully."

Dr Edu in her response welcomed the taskforce team to her office, congratulating them on their inauguration and the steps taken to link the CRUTECH response team with the State's Rapid Response Team for synergy and incorporation into the EOC for proper update during EOC meetings.

"just like in the case of University of Calabar, it is important that the taskforce team be immediately linked up with the State's Response Team. certain areas needs to be addressed and important COVID-19 measures put in place, hand washing stations should be made available in every Department, there's a need for hand sanitizers to be provided in various offices while the School Management should adopt the Antigen Rapid Testing Kits before using PCR test for further confirmation due to the high number of Staff and Students in the Institution. For emergency purposes and quarantine, holding bays should be created in your medical centers with beds to hold brief before calling on the State's response who'll take it up from there, we're ready to support you with those beds as well as other equipment."

Dr Edu advised the team to make available sensitization materials at strategic places to always help in awakening students consciousness while donating on behalf of the State Government important COVID-19 items such as Knapsack Sprayers for decontamination, PPEs, N95 facemasks, Gloves, Medijet Face Masks, Hand Washing liquid Soap, Face Shield, Isolation Gowns, and a list of other very important COVID-19 prevention items with a charge that Students who fails to abide by the COVID-19 laid down procedures should be made to face the sanctions of the Taskforce Committee and no Student should be allowed into the campus without facemask.
