The Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade, has assured that his administration is fully committed to ensuring that the World Bank Assisted Appeals Project in the state; does not only commence smoothly but become the most successful in the country.
Ayade, who gave this assurance when the Cross River State Coordinator of the project, Mr. Masculine Agim, paid him a visit in Calabar on Tuesday.
The Cross River Governor who personally accompanied the state Appeals project Coordinator, Mr. Agim to show him land in Odukpani for the take up of the project, said that he has carefully scrutinise every aspect of the project before giving a go ahead.
Ayade promised that the state will ensure the smooth operation of the project by giving its counterpart funding to the project.
Speaking earlier, the Cross River State Coordinator of the Appeals project, Mr. Marcel Agim commended governor Ayade for personally taking him to show the land at Odukpani for the project and for displaying such a great sense of simplicity and commitment to the project.
Mr. Agim disclosed that the project value chain will center around poultry, cocoa, rice production and marketing.
He also expressed deep appreciation to Ayade, for giving directive for an office accommodation to be given to the project in a good location since their former office was destroyed by the #ENDSARS protesters.
The World Bank Assisted Appeals Project Coordinator explained that with the provision of land at Odukpani by the governor, farmers under him who have no land to cultivate can now do so happily.
Agim therefore assured that he will work to support the governor magnanimity to ensure that the Cross River State project turns out to be the best in Nigeria.
