Poised to strategically position the State as a sought-for destination through her rich cultural heritage, Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prof. (Sir) Ben Ayade has sued for tolerance and peaceful co-existence during the yuletide season as a catalyst for effective cultural propagation.
Governor Ayade made the call Saturday during a traditional exhibition at the Calabar Arts Craft Cultural Village held at the Cultural Centre Complex, Calabar, with reference to the fact that it is through peace and cultural tolerance that the richness in the vast cultural heritage that the State has been blessed with can be appreciated.
Represented by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Development, Hon. Eric Anderson, Governor Ayade inferred that there is a uniqueness of culture in all the Local Government Areas of the State which would be harnessed in earnest in promoting the abundant cultural values of the State, thereby wooing tourists for leisure and investment promotion.
The "Efik Cultural Day" and the "Calabar South Day" celebrated and others to come are in furtherance to the vision of the pragmatic Governor Ben Ayade to promote and showcase the rich cultural heritage of the state to the world which Cross River State is known for as an emblem of the tourism destination of Nigeria.
