The Second Edition of the Boki Business Conference
(BBCON2020) event was the latest milestone in a series of Entrepreneurship
conferences held by a Media Blog in Cross River State, Nigeria between 2010-2020.
The 3-day Business, Entrepreneurship, and Skill Acquisition conference hosted
up to 200 young people for an intensive fullpacked entrepreneurial business.
The Boki Business Conference (BBCON)
which held from 10th to 12th of December, 2020 is an
annual Business, Entrepreneurship and skill acquisition event hosted by the
Boki Blog team in collaboration with Organizations and well-meaning Boki
citizens.
The BBCON Event is dedicated to
reshapping, rebranding and redeveloping the minds of Boki People and Cross
Riverians for productivity, creativity, entrepreneurship and accountability.
Thereby bringing successful, motivational and outstanding Individuals, Business
men and entrepreneurs across the country to present seminars in every edition
of the conference.
The main aim of BBCON is to empower
youths with exciting startup ideas and teach them marketable skills to reduce
youths unemployment to make them common problem solvers as well as reduce the
menace of cultism.

Ultimately, the dream is to make young
Cross Riverians embrace creativity rather than crime or violence.
Having hosted the maiden edition in
April 2019, the team staged the 2020 BBCON in Wula, Boki LGA, Cross River State
with theme “The Rural Entrepreneur” which
seek to establish the thought that location or current situation cannot ‘Deter’
a Determined mind or an ‘’Entrepreneur’’ as the case may be.
This year’s event featured a couple of
skills which are economically in high demand and as such was made possible for
our participants to learn. Skills like; Pastries, Renewable Energy, Shoe making
skills (leader works), Fashion design skills (tailoring), Digital marketing,
Blogging and writing skills, Phone repair skills, catering skills, Interior and
Exterior decorations, soap making skills, makeup skills and Agric business
skills.
In an address delivered by the Convener of the
event, Mr. Pospi Otuson said; “I’m really excited to see you all and
particularly excited about the fact that despite COVID-19 and the recent
ENDSARS saga,The second edition of Boki Business Conference event still
held. It is pleasing and of great
pleasure to host the 2020 BBCON event with such a huge turn-up compared to
BBCON 2019 held at Okundi, Boki LGA on April 5th and 6th
2019”.

“It has become important that once in a while, young
people should come together to plan towards a better future cause we’re the
next generation leaders” he said, advising on the relavance on entrepreneurship
in our society.
The BBCON2020 event featured exciting keynote
speakers including the Capacity SA Media to Senator Sandy Ojang Onor of Cross
River State Central Senatorial District, Miss Modlin Odu, Mr. Moses Agbor, CEO
Aster Gate Global, Mr. David Peter, an Agronomist Consultant and CEO African Farming
Students Association (AFSA) amongst others
The Event powered by Boki Blog Initiative, had
Allied Bond Consulting LTD, NewsWireNGR, National Youth Council of Nigeria,
UMFB, Mike Konceptz and the Nigeria Young Farmers Network as Partners.
In a way to fund Participants following the skills
learnt, the BBCON2020 event had a Business Idea Pitching session allowing
participants to Pitch their idea and stand a chance of getting Business grants.
So far, 10 participants will be funded N50,000 each before the end January 2021.
