1. INEC Resumes Voter Registration By 2021 The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will resume the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) ahead of the 2023 general elections in the first quarter of 2021. This was confirmed on Wednesday by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu during the budget defence of the commission before the Senate Committee on INEC.

 2. We’re Ready To Suspend Strike If… ASUU Tells FG The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has expressed readiness to suspend the seven-month-long strike but cannot work on empty stomachs. ASUU Ibadan Zonal Coordinator, Prof. Ade Adejumo, made this comment on Wednesday during a press conference to give an update on the strike action. The Union said the President Muhammadu Buhari Federal Government’s plan of using hunger as a weapon to weaken its agitation and demands will not work.

 3. El-Rufai Lifts Curfew In All 23 LGAs In Kaduna The Kaduna State Government led by Governor Nasir El-Rufai has approved the full relaxation of the 6 pm to 6 am curfew in all the 23 local government areas of the northern state. The relaxation of the curfew in Kaduna was disclosed in a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, where he said that, the lifting of the curfew takes effect immediately.

 4. Sanwo-Olu Signs Executive Order To Rebuild Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has signed an executive order to rebuild the state following the destruction of public and private properties by hoodlums during End SARS protests. Sanwo-Olu also constituted the Lagos State Rebuilding Trust Fund to oversee the rebuilding of every aspect of the state and attend to the future of the state. 

5. Kogi: Court Delivers Final Ruling On Yahaya Bello vs Simon Achuba The National Industrial Court on Wednesday directed the Yahaya Bello-led Kogi State Government to pay the former deputy governor, Simon Achuba, the sum of N180 million. Justice Oyebiola Oyewunmi, who read the judgement, stated that the sum of N180million will be paid to Achuba as outstanding security votes due to him from April 2018 to August 2019.

 6. Sultan Asks IGP Adamu, DSS To Question Bishop Onah Over Attacks On Muslims The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has asked the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu, and the Department of State Services (DSS) to interrogate Bishop Godfrey Onah of Nsukka Catholic Diocese over the recent attacks on Muslims in the South-East and South-South. Onah had decried alleged discrimination in handling of security cases in the north and in the south. He backed up this claim by recounting the clash between IPOB members and DSS operatives in Enugu state. 

7. ASUU: Nothing Stopping Lecturers From Resuming - FG The Federal Government has stated that it has met all the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to enable them to end the lingering strike. The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, made this known while speaking on Channels Television. While insisting that there is nothing stopping the lecturers from returning to classrooms, the Minister said the lingering strike should be blamed on the lecturers. 

8. End SARS: ICC Begins Probe Of Lekki Massacre In Nigeria The International Criminal Court (ICC) on Wednesday, 4th of November 2020 opened a preliminary inquiry into the shooting of #EndSARS protesters at Lekki tollgate in Nigeria. The ICC received petitions on alleged crimes against the protesters by security operatives during the protests, which was organized under the #EndSARS campaign in October. 

9. Coronavirus: Expect COVID-19 Pandemic Spike In Next Two Weeks - FG Warns The Federal Government has warned that there could be another outburst of the COVID-19 disease in the country in the next two weeks. According to Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation who doubles as Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Nigerians should not feel comfortable with the low number of infections reported in recent weeks.
