Rt. Hon. Dr. Itam Abang, member representing Boki 1 state constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly has Congratulated the good people of Boki I constituency, Nigerians on the occasion of the nation's 60th Independence Day Celebration. She expressed her joy and heartfelt commitment to the good people of Boki II for all their support, prayers, and encouragement up till now.
She said; On this auspicious occasion of Nigeria’s 60th Independence Day, I convey my warm greetings and felicitations to Nigerians, Cross Riverians, and all the people of Boki 1 Constituency.
As we celebrate 60 years of freedom, let us recall the country’s struggle to attain independence from the foreign rule and its long-enduring journey to emerge as a strong powerful nation, and let us take a moment to salute the pioneer leaders and all the brave patriots who had sacrificed their lives for the freedom and future of this country.

Despite COVID-19, Nigeria is still considered one of the most powerful nations in Africa with growth indicators in all significant areas to become an economic superpower in the near future. As a constituency unit of this great nation, it is our solemn duty to work for the unity, strength, and development of the country.
On this important occasion, I would like to appeal to al Nigerians, as well as the people of Boki 1 Constituency to extend sincere support and co-operation to the development of both the federal and state government, which call for active public participation for the peace and prosperity of our state and join the rest of the country in its race towards building a New Nigeria.
Our Boki nation is embedded with gifted youths who can transform Boki and the entire Cross River State. I am here today to remind my fellow youths that transformation starts with you. It's a fact that "My life will not be defined by a single political campaign. Those will come and go. But what has driven me to represent in the past still drives me today: the knowledge that heroes do walk among us with tremendous strength and power".
