The Cross River State Ministry of Health joined forces with the Biase council to reach out to hundreds of women and children at the Biase council Headquarters. This was in commemoration of the 40th birthday of the council chairman Hon. Ada Egwu. 

The event which had Doctors and nurses as well as other Cadre of Health care workers offered free health services treating over 400 women and children for diseases such as malaria, Hypertension, diabetis, anemia, diarrhea etc was greatly applauded. Biase Mothers and Children were also blessed with the distribution of palliatives such as facemasks, exercise books, writing materials, foodstuffs, diapers etc.

The Cross River State Commissioner for Health Dr Betta Edu has felicitated with the Executive Chairman of Biase LGA Hon. Mrs Ada Charles Egwu on her 40th birthday describing her as a classic leader with versatile visions. 

Dr Edu who was the Special Guest of Honor alongside the DG of SACA Dr Etcheri Ansa used that opportunity to sensitize the good people of Biase on the need to adhere to the safety measures and guidelines of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Like we all know, the fight against COVID-19 has been on for several months now, I wish to appeal that we always be on our facemasks, wash our hands regularly, sanitize them if far from water. we must not  neglect other common causes of mortality like Delivering with unskilled birth attendant, HIV/AIDS, Typhoid, Malaria, Dysentery, Diarrhea, Hypertension, Diabetes etc. if we have any of this, immediately visit the nearest health center. We have a Governor who cares about the health of his citizens and as such has provided Health Facilities at our door steps so endeavor to go to those facilities anytime you have health challenges”




The Health Boss thanked His Excellency the Executive Governor of CRS Sen Prof Ben Ayade and his darling wife Dr Linda Ayade for believing so much in the capabilities of women and giving the good people of Biase LGA Mrs Ada Charles. "For our birthday lady, they say life begins at 40,  use your new age to impact on the lives of your people." Edu advised.

The Chairman of Biase and the Chief Host/Celebrant Hon. Mrs Ada Charles thanked the State Governor and his beloved wife for the tremendous support, love and trust reposed on her to pilot the affairs of Biase LGA promising never to let him down. "My thanks goes to my political father and mentor Sen Ben Ayade and his wife for the trust and support and to the Health commissioner Dr Betta Edu, thanks for honoring my Biase people especially with the Medical support. Biase mothers and children i must say its an honor celebrating this special day of mine with you and for your trust and confidence showed me, I assure you again that I'll not fail you." The chairman distributed lots of items to the vulnerable mothers and children, while adopting a child born on that same day of her birth.

In a birthday felicitation message, the DG of SACA Dr Etcheri wished the celebrant many more positive years and greater achievements while sensitizing the people on the need to always know their HIV status. The Biase LGA HOLGA Mrs Margaret Bassey on her part wished the chairman a very happy birthday.

The good people of Biase poured encomiums on the State Governor for always having them in mind and using the Health Commissioner to give them Free Medical assistance.
