The Nsadop, Etikpe and Abankang Communities of Boki and Ikom Local Government Areas, in Cross River State are set to launch a 300million naira 40km road project linking through Ogoja/Calabar highway.

The project which is under the Rural Communities Road Development Initiative has been projected for Saturday, 15th August 2020 at the Migrant Primary school field kejip.

This Communities in recent times have suffered setbacks in both the social and economic activities, farmers have also found it very impossible to convey their produce into Major markets to sell amongst other form of backwards as a result of not having accessible roads and other basic amenities.

In a statement signed by the Clan Head of Nsadop, HRH Otu Pius Neji Oku; reads...

In the mid 80s one of our illustrious sons Chief Celestine Osim Tawo, had a dream for construction of a special highway passing through the jungles of Nsadop/Etikpe/Abankang to the Ogoja, Calabar highway.

The main frame architectural structure for the highway like; culverts and bridges were commencing through his personal donation and community efforts. This dream didn't pull through because of paucity of funds and dwindling economic conditions.

Few years down the line an economic development project from the European Union showed interest of completing the road as it were under their development plan. This again failed because we  could not raised the counterpart funding that was needed at that time for the road to commence and be completed.

In 2020 environmental challenges have made it necessary for the Nsadop/Etikpe/Abankang commitment to dream of the 80s.

An imperative, the economic benefit, the social and cultural benefits, the time valuing for money, the evacuation of raw materials and food that has predominantly become wasted because of infrastructural decay speaks volume.

To be mild our communities lose over a billion naira every year due to poor access for farmers to open markets and we intend that these situation should change. Under the leadership of the present Nsadop town council, ably lead by Mr. George O. Osang, his Etikpe counterpart Mr. Joseph Inok and that of Abankang Mr. Fidelis Eminjoke Ayim Supported by the council of chiefs, the youth council was effectively mobilized to achieved for the first time the near impossible fit of breaking through the jungle to Etikpe/Abankang with pick axe, shovels and cutlasses.

We therefore plead for your assistance to make these dream come true, the cost of hiring equipments has remained a dear burden on our shoulders. We believed your support and assistance will enable us achieved our dreams of becoming economic and financially independent.

Your contribution and support will in no small way strengthen our zeal to achieve this wonderful special project. We look forward to this support either through material or funds.

Lastly you will be remembered and your name will be recorded in the annals of the development of Nsadop, Etikpe and Abankang.

Thanks for your anticipated support.
