The DG, CRS Investment Bureau (CRSIB), Barr Rosemary Ekeng and SA Investment Promotion, Barr Patience Obim has assured local and international investors of high returns on investment when they tap into the rich business opportunities in the state.

This was made known when the DG and the Special Assistant undertook an Investment familiarization drive across the 18 local government councils of the state.

The tour titled “Public Policy and Governance in Cross River State: Opportunities and challenges” began with a visit to Calabar Municipal Council where they met with the Executive Chairman, Hon Effefiong Eke.

“We are here to reaffirm our commitment towards complementing the Governor’s laudable efforts in stirring the spirit of enterprise in the state to boost industrialisation drive”.

The DG, emphasized on the readiness of the Bureau to assist the Chairman to achieve his vision of creating purposeful development within the council through its efficient and effective one stop investment hub.

Assuring the Chairman of her relentless commitment to source for investors, the SA, Patience reiterated the administrations commitment to promote the investment opportunities in the council for good development.

Hon Effefiong spoke on his readiness to fulfil his campaign promises and shared his vision and mission anchored on growth and development for his people.

The Chairman stated that his administration’s vision was to make Calabar Municipality a pacesetter in the state by building an enduring legacy of wealth and prosperity for all through public policy imperatives geared at maximising comparative advantages of the council.

“I am assuring you that issues concerning security, youth empowerment and development will be given top priority. Calabar being the first capital of Nigeria and now the capital of Cross River State would soon be one of the most investment friendly community within the nation”.

The need to promote investment in the state is even more crucial at this time and all hands must be on the plough to drive the opportunities and challenges.

In a statement by the SA Investment, Obim was quoted as saying, “with what we intend to do in partnership with the local government and community leaders, the environment will be conducive for investment to thrive, and I can assure our prospective investors that we are going to have a sustainable atmosphere.

According to her, the private sector has a lot to offer and is pivotal to the state’s investment drive, which seeks to significantly develop all sectors of the economy as growth drivers.
