The BBMarket survey found out that major food items across markets in Boki LGA has recorded decrease in price this this week as compared to last week.
Prices of major Agriculture produce and household items such as palm oil and garri, except yams, plantain and several others have recorded significant decrease across major markets in Boki Local Government area of Cross River State, this is according to the latest BBMarket survey carried out by the Boki Blog Media Team on 21st July 2020.
The latest market survey conducted by the Boki Blog Team, revealed that major markets Boki LGA, have been hit with low patronage, as Farmers/traders across complained of low sales due to alternate opening of the markets.
Key Highlights
The price of 25 litres gallon of locally made palm oil, which was sold for an average of N12,500 last week reduce to an average of N9,000.
Meanwhile, the team found out that the price of a maize reduced significantly by 50%. Sadly, a cup of Bush Mango (ogbono) which was sold for an average of N300 per cup, now sells for N500.
A Basin of Garri which sold at an average Price of N10,000 last week, now sells at N8,500 today.
Yams turned out to be more expensive according to our team survey. Five tubers of yam could be bought for N7,000, fifty tubers at N70,000 and one hundred tubbers for N140,000.
Other Agricultural produce like Plantain, have been very scares in recent times.
Palm oil recorded the most significant increase in price lately;
A 25 litres gallon of locally made palm oil now sells for an average of N9,000. A 28% decrease compared to N12,500 recorded in the previous month.
Also, a 5 litres gallon of locally produced palm oil also increased by 58% to sell at an average of N3,000 compared to an initial average of N1,900.
