Cross River State governor, Sen. Ben Ayade has banned his commissioners and other aides from making both public and policy statements on radio, newspapers, social media, etc without getting clearance from him.
According to a directive through his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Christian Ita, the Governor has “warned all commissioners and other political appointees of government to henceforth desist from making public and policy statements” without his permission.
The said directive further noted that all political appointees wishing to issue public statements must pass through the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Asu Okang or Mr. Christian Ita, the media aide to the governor.
“The governor also warned that any contravention of the directive will be met with severe sanctions,” Christian Ita said.
