Political Catastrophes And Squabbles In Boki By Dr. Agan Longinus

Boki is a large community with rich natural resources given by the Almighty God. Boki is also made up of people with very high intellectual capacity to carry out reasonable actions that will bring development for the benefit of all.

It will become precarious when we begin to act  negatively in our political arena. Nevertheless, i was properly informed that some group of persons at calabar went to Pastor Ewa's church, made use of his church instruments and adopted him (Pastor Ewa) as their substantive Boki LGA Chairmanship candidate. Majority of persons protested against the adoption, that electoral rules were not properly observed. Nonetheless, information reached us that some  of the Aspirants were not given fair hearing during the primaries. Sources also  said that  Primaries or adopting a candidate for any Political position should have been conducted in Boki  were voting will take place during the electrical era.

Similarly, it is also prodigiously disheartening in a matter in which Ogep Ward counsellorship was zoned to Bansan Osokom community and some one from Ogep osokom village is trying to disrupt the zoning arrangement. Furthermore, last week, I was also informed that one Abra from Bansan Osokom was adopted by Ogep Ward Caucus at calabar, as the substantive counsellorship candidate for Ogep Ward. Few people protested against the zoning. Believably, yesterday at  the early hours of 9 a.m, some group of persons from Ogep Ward traveled to calabar to conduct another Ward Primaries or adopting another candidate. If i may ask , what hindered the Ogep Ward caucus from  conducting Primaries or adopting a candidate in  Boki Comprehensive sec. Sch. Okundi or in Ogep osokom Primary school? More squabbles and altercations  will continue to escalate due to incessant negative actions been carried out by our calabar politicians. Thus, if things continue the way they are, the smooth Political activities that are carried  out in the previous years in Boki, will be ravaged by prejudices that could  jeopardize our communities.

And finally, i wish to say  emphatically and   explicitly, that for  this wrangle not to bifurcate or segregate the absolute Unity of the Boki people, fair hearing should be given to all Aspirants and all the Primaries  should be conducted in Boki.
