New appointed VC: CRUTECH Governing Councils holds handing-over ceremony

Today, 13th November 2019, the Management's, Staffs and Governing council's of the pragmatic citadel of learning, Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) held an handing-over ceremony for the Immediate Past Ag. VC Professor (Mrs) Akon Monday Joshua, MNAE to the newly appointed Ag. VC Prof. Ogar David Abua the ceremony was conducted at the Cross River University of Technology, Senate Chamber at 11am.


David Peter, noted the University Managements, Governing Councils, Dignitaries and invited guest on the occasion. In present, on the handing-over ceremony was the Outgoing VC, Prof, (Mrs). Akon Monday Joshua, MNAE, Incoming Ag. VC; Prof. Ogar David Abua, The Registrar; Mr Gabriel Beshel, The Bursar; Mr. Ekpe I. Ekpe, The Librarian; Prof. Williams, Director of MIS; Dr. Mrs. Etta Hannah Edim,  Director for  Medical Services, Director of Academic Planning, Deans of Faculties, Head of Departments and SUG Official's.


Prof. Mrs. Akon Monday Joshua, The Outing VC, expressed her journey so far, and six months of being an acting Vice Chancellor airing an expression of "Time" as the progression of events from the PAST to the PRESENT and into the FUTURE assuring the future will start today as she handover to Professor Ogar, David Abua for the next three(3) month's. 


Prof Akon speaking, "Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) from inception in September, 2002 has a PAST, a PRESENT and a FUTURE. The past of CRUTECH has been documented by the past Vice-Chancellor, the present is being presented by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Akon Monday Joshua today, while the future will start today as i handover to Professor Ogar, David Abua for the next three (3) months", Akon said.


 Akon, further allot galactic encomium on  down-to-earth personalities for their support throughout the six months she served as the Acting Vice-Chancellor which were filled with grave challenges.

Prof. Akon shows gratitude, "Permit me ladies and gentlemen to thank God Almighty for His "DIVINE MAPPING" in my life when on the 7th of May 2019, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Professor) Ben Ayade appointed me the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH), for three (3) months, and later added another three (3) months, making it six (6) months, Your Excellency, Sir, thank you and God bless you richly".

Continuing, "I wish to use this time also to thank the Governing Council Chairman, and Members of Governing Council, Management, Senate, Staff and Students for all their support throughout the six months. In all, God helped us, and today, the 2018/2019 academic session has ended in peace. God bless everyone", Akon expressed.


The Acting Vice Chancellor CRUTECH, Prof. Ogar David Abua gratified His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Barr. Sir. Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade, KSJ for his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of this great Institution,  also he appauld the outgoing VC, Governing Council, ASUU, SSANU, NASU and SUG officials for their oneness to foster the University growth's. Prof. David Ogar, unveil his crystallize blueprint for the University, advise the management to look inward. 

"My foremost gratitude to God Almighty for this new vista day and His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Sir. Benedict Ayade for appointing me as the Vice Chancellor of this great University. And, i want to appreciate the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Governing Council, ASUU, NASU, SSANU and Students of this great University i thank you all. I am not an outsider, i am close to CRUTECH and was a lecturer at Obubra campus, Faculty of Agriculture as previously called University of Cross River, most of my adjourned was done in CRUTECH as an outstanding University. My coming here is to work as a team and we have all the resources for this". He said.

Prof. Ogar David, further unleash his keen interest and, his five (5) point agenda's that will improvise the citadel of learning and make him well pleased on accomplishment thus not limited to this, he stated.  
Ogar speaking, " I have purpose which will be of great interest to me; 1. Security 2. Uplifting the academic standard and enabling CRUTECH the first ten University in Nigeria 3. The welfare of Staffs 4. Infrastructural development across campuses, the fifth but not the last, Generation of funds through IGR, all this i mentioned can't be accomplished without funding and i will not be able to give all full details on how i will accomplish this, but i have been interacting with top governing council in this great institution for the past few days and i have very sound knowledge of what have been happening now and its previous. However, all this will be accomplish through our collective interest of "we"- everyone of us". 

Prof. Ogar, shun lecturers who collect sorting from students to pass exams, fraudulent acts of nonpayment of fees and cultism practice's on campuses. 

"I believe we have the  intellectual capacity and facilities to improvise the setting of this institution.  Students relies on our responsibility for us ensuring a standard environment for their studies and comfortable environment for living. And, The aspects of sorting don't try sorting i wouldn't unleash the measures to nab defaulters in this ceremony because of the visitors in our midst the strategies are already in place before this day and we are set for implementation. More so, the security of this great institution is my keen ipriority therefore, cultist amend their ways rightly as smart tech security will be launch to curb illicit act on campuses, We are going to look inward". He said.

Prof. David, heartily thank all the management's, Governing Councils, Staffs, Students foreseeing the great hope and future of the institution..

"I Once again, thank God Almighty for giving me the privilege to address you all, The Governing Council, Management of this great University, Staffs, SUG officials and Students, but most importantly my vision driven Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Sir. Benedict Ayade for giving me this opportunity thank you very much", He ended.

The Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Beshel in-witness on the handing over ceremony expressed his goodness towards the positive outcome and successful ceremony. He concluded, the ceremony with enormous gratitude's.
Gabriel speaking, "This afternoon we have witness a wonderful and heart touching handing over ceremony, I am happy for its fruitfulness. I thank you all for the Management, Staff's, SUG Officials and Students for this great time together at the Senate Chambers and i wish you all a safe journey back to your destination, thank you and God Bless you all". The ceremony ended.
