A Statement Released By a Social Development Platform In Cross River State. Peace, Ethics and Values Advocacy Frontier has called for the return of administrative activities in Boki local government area.

The statement which is signed by a 7-man executive members was captioned 'BOKI IS THE LGA, BOJE IS THE HEADQUARTERS:
BEING A STATEMENT RELEASED BY PEACE, ETHICS AND VALUES ADVOCACY FRONTIER' It reads as follows;

1. We, the PEACE, ETHICS AND VALUES ADVOCACY FRONTIER share a deep concern for the current juxtaposed preference of Boje and Okundi as main and quasi provisional Council Headquarters of Boki Local Government Area; a situation which has hitherto singled out Boki  as the ONLY Local Government Area in the State which Government Provisional Council Headquarters is not functional and viable only, but also relocated from its hosting Community to a non designated community. We see this continuous abandonment of the Administrative Premises of the Local Government Council in Boje as an albatross hanging on the intelligence of our collective politically enlightened and educated minds, and also as an anomaly which has to be intentionally confronted and requisitely corrected in good spirit and fairness.

2. The palliative intention to ameliorate the then circumstances responsible for inaccessibility of Boje (Government provisional Boki LGA Council Headquarters) which technically transferred administrative operations of all official duties, functions, and Offices designation of Heads of the three tiers of the Local Government to Okundi on a temporary basis, has serviced the need and is over-staying that overture.

3. In view of the ongoing construction of Boki East-West Road awarded by the Cross River State Government which has hugely solved the inaccessibility problem to the Council Administrative Headquarters in Boje since late last year, PEACE, ETHICS AND VALUES ADVOCACY FRONTIER vehemently call on the Cross River State Government, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Paramount Ruler and the Traditional Council of Boki. In the same vein, we are calling on OCHIBE Boki, Boki Members of Parliament, Boki Political Opinion Leaders/Stalwarts, Technocrats, and all well meaning Boki Sons and Daughters to throw in their weight and urgently move for the return of all Council Activities to Boje prestissimo.

4. We identify with the fair share of development challenges that Boki Local Government Area is struggling with. The challenges ranging from insecurity to economical and to topographical are NOT without a way out nor are they only peculiar to Boki. We must be sincere with that goodwill to tackle our problems head-on and stop living in the weakness of hypocrisy which is inflicting dastardly damages to our patrimony.

5. Boki Local Government Area should not lead a mockery record as the first Local government in Cross River State which Council Headquarters was abandoned for rental offices elsewhere. This is provocatively shameful and unbecoming of such a people with Cedars of Intellects and Leaders of thoughts in the State, the Country and beyond. We must eschew petty sentiments and rise above sharp practices that are peaching us against one another using this call as a litmus.

6. We are suing for the return of peace and progress in Boki Local Government Area. We believe this can start out by resumption of effective administrative operations in the Council Headquarters which will see the Executive, Legislature, the Judiciary and Council Staff return to their respective Offices and duties in the Headquarters thereby reinstating the pride of place of our government institutions’ headquarter.

7. For a robust administrative and security environment, PEACE, ETHICS AND VALUES ADVOCACY FRONTIER is placing a demand for Permanent Special Police Squad or a Mobile Police detail to be drafted to Boje. We draw the attention of Boki Local Government Administrator to act upon this campaign and forward a ‘Necessity Request’ to the Nigeria Police for construction of a standard Police Station in Boje to promptly tackle security breaches in the axis.

8. Accordingly, we request in this campaign the immediate relocation of all other security details attached to the Council Headquarters (DSS, Civil Defense etc) back to their Offices in the Headquarters. It is inglorious for a massive Local Government Area as Boki to accept such a lie of political  co-existence by turning a blind eye to issues that are deepening the lines of division amongst us. We owe our generation and the generations unborn the legacy of passing on to them a united indivisible Boki nation under God.

9. We have to collectively ensure that Boki is continually growing politically through the promoting of our People, Our Values, and institutions. We must live in preference for one another, respecting the rights and privileges of Member Communities that makes up Boki, as we all share equal rights, heritages and opportunities.

10. Boki is now more than ever, starved of growth and development. Therefore, we must readily get out hands dirty to create the destiny we want for Boki. We will take all chances to lure development and strive to become legacy sculptures of the Boki future. Yet, we have to begin by correcting the ills capable of undermining our Unity.

11. PPEACE, ETHICS AND VALUES ADVOCACY FRONTIER following this Statement, shall advance this canvassing to appropriate Stakeholders and Quarters by consultation and by effective forward action.
