Like a tank of water, the High Court complex, venue of the National Assembly Election Tribunal, Calabar was full to the brim with supporters of Ntufam Dr. Sandy Ojang Onor, Senator-elect, Central Senatorial District and those of Mr. Solomon Esor, Senatorial Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) who had earlier filed a petition, challenging the outcome of February 19th Presidential/National Assembly election result on grounds of exclusion.
The court sat at 9:30am today, 6th of May, 2019. Different Lawyers announced appearances for different parties. Council to Mr Solomon Esor, Barr. Joe Oloko prayed the court to strike out their petition against Dr. Sandy Onor on the following grounds:
1) As a democrat, he believes on and accepts the verdict of the outcome of that election.
2) He has put the events of that election behind him and seeks for a peaceful and progressive Senatorial district.
Accordingly, the tribunal struck out the case of Solomon Esor versus Sandy Onor.
Mr Solomon Esor congratulates the winner, Ntufam Dr. Sandy Ojang Onor and wish him a productive, people oriented, all inclusive representation.
