The State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade has today sacked over 5000 appointees appointed in his former administration.
This was following the Governor's demand for Handover notes from Commissioners and other appointees latest Friday, as stated in our previous update. It has been said that the directive affects “all appointees without tenured terms.”

Also, reports from Government House Calabar states that; “the only appointees exempted are those heading statutory Boards like SUBEB, Primary Health Care, Water Board, etc. Heads of those Boards have tenures that must be completed before they can be removed from office. And we understand that quite a number of appointees have turned in their handover notes as directed by the governor.”
CrossRiverWatch reveals that Governor Ben Ayade may not have more than 18 appointees in his new administration.
