The federal high court in Abuja has ordered the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, not to take any further action in the nomination of candidates for the governorship election in Cross River state.
According to the Africans Independent Televeision, The interlocutory order was made in the suit filed by the state chairman of the party, Godwin John and minister of Niger Delta affairs Usani Uguru Usani seeking to establish himself as the duly elected APC governorship candidate in the state.
Usani Uguru Usani and his party have been locked in a legal dispute after the APC announced senator Owan Enoh as the duly elected candidate of the party for the March 2, governorship election in the state.
Presiding judge, Inyang Ekwo directed parties to maintain the status quo pending the determination of the matter.
