Since the commencement of the Federal government-sponsored School Feeding Programme in Cross River State, pupils of Sacred Heart Primary School, Buanchor, Boki are yet to be fed.
This is because one FLORENCE OBIOCHI BIKOM ABANG, the supposed Vendor assigned to the school is yet to show up.
Investigations reveal that, contrary to the provision that a food vendor should be sourced from the locality where a school is located, this "ghost" Vendor, allegedly sponsored by a politician, was posted from another political ward entirely. In fact, no one in the whole Buanchor community knows this name.
Most worrisome is the finding that, even as the children are yet to start benefiting from the programme, the supposed Vendor's bank account is being credited monthly for services not rendered.
Besides the reported importation of stale fried chicken from far away Akwa Ibom State, this is another dimension of the clear effort by some unscrupulous individuals to sabotage the good intentions of the federal government. This is annoying.
Pupils of SACRED HEART PRIMARY SCHOOL, BUANCHOR, deaserve too to be fed. They must not be left out of this novel programme.
There may be other ghost vendors elsewhere. This is therefore calling on the appropriate authorities to urgently do the needful!
